Farewell Gig and Eden's Curse
Power Quest will be making their final live appearance on August 10th with a 75 minute set at Bloodstock Open Air festival. The band hit the stage at 17:55. There is also a signing session at 15:10 that afternoon.
Steve Williams commented: "It's hard to believe that the last show is finally upon us but it's great to be able to finish at B.O.A., as Bloodstock 2003 was the fifth show we ever did as Power Quest, so there is a certain symmetry there.
I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the band between 2001 and 2013. I never thought the ride would last as long as it has done. I'd also like to thank everyone who has been involved behind the scenes with the band over the years as well, and of course all the musicians who have been and will always be part of the Power Quest family."
Following the recent news of Andy Midgley joining I AM I and Rich Smith joining Raven Lord, Steve Williams has been announced as the new keyboardist for Eden's Curse. You can watch the video announcement below.
Farewell Gig at The Underworld, Camden Town, London, UK
"Thanks to everyone who came along to the show at the Underworld on Friday 31st May 2013. It was awesome to see so many fans from up and down the country and overseas in attendance. The atmosphere was electric and I was truly humbled by the response. I've always said that you can't get better than a Power Quest fan, and that was proven last Friday once again!
It was fantastic to have Alessio Garavello on stage with us once again and also for us to be joined by original Power Quest guitarist Adam Bickers. Adam never got the chance to play live with the band back in the day so it was fantastic for him to step onstage and play 'Wings of Forever', 'Far Away' and 'Power Quest' with us. Onwards to Bloodstock!
The set list and a couple of video clips are included below for those who could not attend."

The Quest Is Over...
UK melodic metal outfit Power Quest will be calling time on their 12 year existence in 2013. Keyboardist and founder member Steve Williams commented on the news as follows:
"I've decided that now is the time to say that the Quest is over. From a business perspective it is getting harder and harder for us to break even. None of us make any money from Power Quest (we all work day jobs) but I have been losing significant amounts of money when on the road for the past few years. No matter how much you love something, there comes a point where you have to look at the facts, not the dream.
I love nothing more than touring and making records but if there isn't sufficient demand for the product then there comes a time when reality has to bite unfortunately.
I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me and Power Quest over the past 12 years...it is very much appreciated and it is what has kept me going through the years. It's been a great ride and I've had the pleasure of having some great musicians in this band who I am proud to call my friends. Steve, Alessio, Andrea, Francesco, Rich, Paul, Andy, Gav, Colin, Chitty, Adam, Andre, Bill, Oliver, Gav Ward, ZP,Sam Totman, Pete and Ben......you guys have played such a huge role in making Power Quest what it has become and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
My dream as a youngster was to make one album. It was not about being a rock star or making lots of money, although that would have been nice :-) It always has and always will be about the music first and foremost, so to have released 5 albums is way beyond anything I could have dreamt of to be honest.
Huge thanks to those who have done so much behind the scenes over the years as well, without whom it would have been immensely difficult for me. Step forward Manuela Froehlich, Anna Walker, Simon Burrell and Sprocket.
But it is you, the fans, who have joined the Quest and supported the band through all the ups and downs over the years that I save my final words of thanks for. You guys have been inspirational to me! I've always said that Power Quest fans are the best in the world...and that is as true today as it has ever been. I hope you will understand my reasons for this decision and I hope to see as many of you as possible in the months and years to come.
We will be looking to do a couple of farewell shows in 2013 and hopefully make them a fitting way for us to take our leave.
It's never an easy thing to know when the time is right to move on to pastures new, but I believe that time is now.
Through the wind and the rain we'll meet again..."
"As the festive season approaches once more, I'd like to take the opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year and 2013 in general. Thank you all for your support as always during the past 12 months and the past 12 years in fact. A certain symmetry there I feel :-)
We hope to see as many of you as possible at the Derby and Hull shows! Both nights promise to be really cool, with the added bonus of none other than Alessio Garavello joining us in Hull :-)
Watch out for a major news update in the New Year!"
Journey To The Crimson Dawn Postponed!
We are sorry to announce that Freedom Call have decided to postpone the upcoming European tour until May 2013. It is not known at this stage whether Power Quest will be part of the package in 2013 or not. Freedom Call will also be touring Europe with Luca Turilli's Rhapsody in November. Apologies to our fans in France, Germany and Italy who were looking forward to seeing us play. Unfortunately this is all out of our control.
The Power Quest online shop at CCNOW has been closed as we are currently exploring new options on that front. CD's are still available from Napalm Records and other online retailers but in the short term shirts will only be available at live shows.
With the Freedom Call tour just a month away, we are sorry to have to announce that the Venice show on October 19th 2012 has been cancelled completely due to technical issues with the venue.
As a result we will be spending an extra night in Milan so if any fans want to come down to the city and hang out with the band on October 19th...just let us know!
The show in Milan on October 20th has had a change of venue and will now take place at Blue Rose Saloon, via Carolina Romani 1/11, 20091 Bresso (MI) Italy.
The Milan show also marks the birthday of Power Quest keyboardist and founder Steve Williams...so come on down and celebrate his...errr...umm...21st birthday? Hahaha!
We are pleased to announce that we will return to the UK stage in December, where the band will be headlining the Metieval Winterfest at the Piper Club in Hull on December 16th 2012 and will be appearing at the Hairy Dog in Derby on December 14th 2012.
Hope to see as many of you there as possible as head towards the end of another year. Watch out for some tunes that have never been played live before!
Visit the Tour page for more information.
Power Quest Answers The Freedom Call Once Again!
Following on from an overwhelmingly successful first leg of the Freedom Call Tour in March this year, Power Quest have been asked back to join the second leg of the "Journey to the Crimson Dawn" tour as special guests.
Steve Williams is enthusiastic: "We are very pleased with being asked to go out with Freedom Call again. We had such a great time in March; the guys are fantastic to be on tour with. And the feedback for PQ was amazing! We are looking forward to be back in France & Italy! We haven't played there since the 2007 tour with Angra and Firewind. And Munich for the first time, this is going to be killer!"
Visit the Tour page for more information.
Thank You! Good Night!
Well it has been a while since the last update but there has been a lot going on in the Power Quest camp. Steve Williams checked in with the following update:
"The tour in March with Freedom Call was superb. The fans in Germany and Switzerland were amazing as were Freedom Call themselves. FC and PQ seemed to compliment each other really well. In Legend, who opened each night, were also a cool band and great guys. Big thanks to Steve Scott for returning to the fold to help us out while Paul was unavailable.
We've just got back from PPM festival in Belgium and that was another incredible mission. Brilliant weekend and the show was a blast. The crowd reaction blew us away and we spent a lot of time hanging with the fans and many of our friends too.
We are off the road for a little while now, so it's time to start thinking about new material before hopefully getting out there again in the Autumn.
Thanks to everyone who came out to see us recently and we will see you all soon!"

Thank you for all your support during 2011, especially everyone who came out to see us at Bloodstock, Hammerfest, on tour with Symphony X and Crimson Glory or at one of our own headline shows in the UK and Europe! See you somewhere on tour in 2012!
Thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2012!
Thanks to everyone who came out to see our first show with Colin Callanan on vocals in Wakefield a week or so back. It was a truly memorable night and we couldn't have done it without you all. A big shout out to everyone around the world who tuned in to watch the show "live" on the internet too. A first for Power Quest and I hope that will be something we can do again in the future.
We will be back in action on January 6th 2012 at the Arctic Festival (Bridgehouse 2, Canning Town, London).
With the festive season almost upon us once more (where does the time go????) I'd like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Merry Christmas and here's to an awesome 2012! Cheers!

New Power Quest Frontman Revealed!
We are pleased to finally reveal the identity of the new Power Quest frontman! Please welcome Colin Callanan to the Power Quest family! Colin, 31, is from Galway, Ireland and will make his live debut with the band in Wakefield on November 27th. The show will be streamed "live" on the internet as well! Previously Colin has been heard fronting his own projects "Dark Crystal" and "Karuna". Check out Karuna.
Steve Williams commented:
"We are thrilled to welcome Colin into the band. He impressed each and every one of us at his audition a couple of months back and he really understands what Power Quest is all about. His voice and personality are exactly what we have been looking for. Welcome aboard brother!"
"I'm really happy to be joining Power Quest! I've been following the band since their very first demo release on mp3.com and have already been singing Power Quest songs for many years to help me keep my vocal skills up to scratch. I've always thought it would be great to get the opportunity to sing with an internationally acclaimed outfit such as Power Quest, and was really glad when I got the invite from Steve to come over and jam with the band to see how the chemistry is. Well it was really cool hanging out with the Power Quest family over those days and I tried to give them a good blast of my voice in the rehearsal room so they could see if my technique and style was what Power Quest are after. We both agree it's a good match, and I'm really enthusiastic about being the new voice of Power Quest and offering as much as I can to the band on the old songs, as well as working with the guys to write new material together. I look forward to many more gigs and tours, and plenty of craic as we say in Ireland!"
Thanks to everyone who auditioned for the vocalist position in the band. We had some really great candidates and it was a tough decision to make but we wish everyone the very best in their future musical endeavours.
Bedford Show Cancelled!
We are sorry to announce that Power Quest won't be appearing in Bedford on November 25th. We have been unable to contact the promoter of the event and on checking the venue website, it appears that other acts have now been booked for that night. To say we are not impressed is an understatement but we apologise to everyone who was coming to the show and to the other bands who were due to play with us.
Chitral "Chity" Somapala leaves Power Quest!
We are sorry to have to announce that Chity Somapala has left Power Quest, making the appearance at BOA his last with the band. Chity decided that, at this stage of his career he wanted to move away from Metal to focus on his solo work which is more Rock and Blues based.
Power Quest mainman Steve Williams commented:
"Clearly the last thing I wanted after releasing the Blood Alliance album earlier this year was to have another line up change, having been through so many in recent times. Having said that, we all have to do what is right for us at specific points in time and we part ways with Chity on very good terms and wish him all the very best for the future.
Myself, Andy, Paul, Rich and Gav have been auditioning potential replacements for the past couple of months and we have now decided on who will be the man to take up the frontman role in the band. We would like to thank everyone who has submitted recordings and travelled to auditions as well. We are already hard at work rehearsing for the UK dates in November and we can promise quite a different set list to what we have been performing so far this year. We will be revealing the identity of our new frontman very soon...this guy blew us away at the auditions!"
The first shows with the new vocalist will be in Bedford on November 25th and Wakefield on November 27th. The Wakefield show will be streamed live on the web! Grab your tickets for the Wakefield show now!
Steve Williams - Keyboardist for Power Quest
Crewe show cancelled!
It is with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of the show in Crewe on November 26th 2011. This is due to the venue having structural problems and not being safe for live performances. We will be endeavouring to arrange another show for this date as soon as possible.
Thanks to everyone who came out to support Power Quest at Bloodstock Open Air recently. We were blown away by the size and reaction of the crowd and it made for an amazing weekend for us all. Hopefully it won't be another 8 years before we return to Bloodstock!
Power Quest comments on the U.K. riots
"Is this what we call being Civilised?
Watching the recent events unfolding in London and elsewhere in the country has compelled me to put my thoughts down on paper. I cannot believe that in the 21st century, and in a supposedly civilised society, we are witnessing such disgraceful and shameful acts of criminal damage, violence, theft and intimidation. I was listening to the BBC coverage into the small hours this morning and was appalled, not only by the perpetrators themselves, but also by those who were just standing by and watching and generally getting in the way of police and other emergency services who were just trying to do their job and deal with what was, and still is, a horrific situation.
There is no justification for stealing someone else´s possessions or trashing their property that they have worked so hard for over the years. Running amok and wearing masks is not only disorderly but cowardly as well. If violence is your belief system then at least have the courage to show your face!
Moreover I even saw, on one live broadcast from Croydon, people laughing and joking in the background while the reporter told us of homes being destroyed and businesses being razed to the ground. It just beggars belief in my humble opinion.
I would like to say that my thoughts and those of Paul, Andy, Rich, Gav and Chity are very much with those affected by these shameful acts and I hope that we don't see the violence spreading further across our country although, sadly, it seems that this has already happened. The vast majority of UK residents are peaceful, decent people and between us we will never let hooligans and thugs dictate to the rest of us.
If you listen to fools.....the Mob Rules.
Stay safe everyone!"
Steve Williams 9/8/11

We will do our best to re-arrange these dates for some time in 2012.
Power Quest to support US Prog Metal legends Crimson Glory
Power Quest are now confirmed as main support for US legends Crimson Glory at their exclusive UK show in London on 17th July 2011.
Crimson Glory are back with new singer Todd La Torre who has definitely added a breath of fresh air to the rest of the band, but just as importantly, it has given the fans a new reason to watch, hope, and eagerly await the next chapter.
Steve Williams: "This year is definitely going really well. After the hugely positive feedback on the Symphony X tour, we had high hopes for our first few UK shows to test the waters for our new album. The reaction was overwhelming and we had immediate demand for more shows. So we are already booking shows for autumn. And now - supporting one of my favourite bands, the legendary Crimson Glory! That's certainly one of my personal highlights this year."

Meanwhile the promotional campaign in Europe is now in full swing, with the band undertaking a plethora of interviews to promote the new record.
Don't forget, Power Quest will be making their first appearance since recording "Blood Alliance" at Hammerfest in North Wales on March 19th. This will be the first opportunity to check out the new line up "live" and to hear some material from the new album for the first time in the live arena.
New merchandise is currently in the works and should be available in time for the UK tour in May.
Some seasonal thoughts from Power Quest keyboardist Steve Williams:
With the South of England very much resembling a winter wonderland, and Christmas just around the corner, it's time to reflect on what has been a very busy 2010 for Power Quest.
The new album, "Blood Alliance", is now recorded, mixed and mastered and is all set for a release in Japan in late January and Europe in late March 2011. It's been a long road since the recording of the demos and the final adjustments to the line up of the band back in March, but we are all very happy with the results and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what everyone else thinks a little further down the line.
We will also be launching a new look website to tie in with the new album as well so keep your eyes peeled for that. More news to come on that front.
On behalf of the band, management and crew I’d like to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2011. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you on the road in 2011 in what will be the 10th year of the Quest!
Recording Blood Alliance
The recording of "Blood Alliance" has now finished at Foel Studios. Big thanks to Chris Fielding and Dave Anderson for all their hard work over the month we spent there. We worked 14 hours per day most days and everyone was pretty much destroyed by the end of the session but we are all extremely pleased with the results!
Mixing is due to commence at Remaster Studio in Vicenza on October 26th. Nick Savio, who mixed "Master of Illusion" will again be in the hot seat for this.
Release dates are currently been discussed with Napalm and everything is on course for a February 2011 release. Felipe Machado has completed another awesome job with the artwork and booklet and Dijana Capan has provided us with some excellent photos for the booklet and the promotional campaign.
We are also planning a number of exciting things for 2011, not least the re-development of the Power Quest website and Myspace page!
Power Quest Returns To The Studio
Just a month to go now until Power Quest return to the studio to record "Blood Alliance", the follow up to 2008's "Master of Illusion". All songs have been selected and a couple of the titles are "Rising Anew" and "Time to Burn". There will be nine songs on the album proper with one bonus track as well. The band plan to have recording wrapped up during the first week of October.
Power Quest mainman Steve Williams commented, "I don't actually ever recall being so excited about an album as I am about Blood Alliance. I just can't wait for everyone to hear it!"
Recording will take place at Foel Studios in Wales which has seen many famous artists work there over the years including Paul Rodgers, Napalm Death and the Wildhearts.
The album photo shoot has already been completed, as has a set of pictures for press and promotional use. Dijana Capan was the photographer and she has delivered a look that is different to any Power Quest photos in the past!
Chitral "Chity" Somapala And Gav Owen Join The Ranks!
Power Quest are pleased to announce that the new vocalist is Chitral "Chity" Somapala. Chity is well known and highly regarded worldwide in the Rock and Metal scene and has recorded, toured and made guest appearances with the likes of "Avalon", "Faro", "Firewind" and "Red Circuit", as well as fronting his own band "Civilization One".
His unmistakable style has been compared favourably with Ronnie James Dio, Klaus Meine and Johnny Gioeli. Power Quest main man Steve Williams commented on the news:
"I'm thrilled to have recruited a vocalist and frontman of Chity's calibre. I've known Chity for a couple of years and we have often talked about working together and now we have that opportunity. We have already recorded 3 new songs with him and they just sound immense." Visit somapala.com for more information about Chity.
In addition to this news we are also pleased to welcome Gavin Owen into the band as the new guitarist. Previously Gav was the lead guitarist for Welsh metallers Triaxis. "Gav's audition last weekend was of the highest standard and we were all very impressed by his playing and how he conducted himself throughout the process", said Steve Williams. "There was an instant chemistry there between him and the rest of the guys and particularly with Andy which bodes well for the future."
We can now reveal that the forthcoming fifth Power Quest record will be titled "Blood Alliance". Work on the new material continues apace and the songs that have been demoed so far are sounding awesome and true to the PQ tradition of catchy melodic Metal.
Thanks to everyone who applied for the vacant guitarist position in the band. We had a huge amount of applicants from all over the world and unfortunately couldn't reply to each and every one of you. Those shortlisted for audition have been informed via email and we look forward to seeing you on May 2nd 2010 in Derby.
Want to see your name in the "Blood Alliance" album thanks list? We are offering the opportunity to anyone who spends over $50 at the Power Quest online store between now and July!
Power Quest are pleased to announce that they will be returning to the recording studio on July 5th 2010 to begin recording their fifth, as yet untitled, album. This will be their second offering for Napalm Records and will be the first to feature the new look Power Quest line up.
Recording will take place at Remaster Studio in Vicenza, Italy and will be produced by Nick Savio. This fantastic studio was where the majority of the Master of Illusion album was recorded. Band leader Steve Williams commented, "It's going to be great to be back in Italy and to be working with Nick again and I'm expecting to run into one or two very familiar faces during the recording process!" Prior to this, the band will be demoing 3 new tracks for the record company at the end of March at Aubitt Studios in Southampton. The following songs are set for inclusion in the recordings: "Sacrifice", "Time to Burn" and "Rising Anew".
